Covid – 19 Notice

We are excited to get back to work and see all our patients again!

At this time Dr. Herget is continuing to start providing all aspects of dental care keeping the proper health and safety protocols in place.

There are a few changes that we want to tell everyone about, that will be coming to the office.
– We will be texting/emailing a digital Covid-19 screening questionnaire before your appointment (if you have a symptoms of any kind we ask that you reschedule your appointment)
– We need to keep the numbers limited in our office so we ask that you wait in your car and we will send you a text or call you to let you know when to come in.
– We will have hand sanitizer ready for you and we will also take your temperature when you come in.
– Ivory Dental on 130th already implements universal precautions with infection prevention control standards and during this time we also following the new standards set in place by AHS, the Alberta Dental Association and College and the CRDHA for us to treat every patient in the safest way possible.

Dr. Garett Herget

Dr. Garett Herget grew up in the Calgary / Okotoks region. First having lived in Okotoks, his family moved to Calgary, but he continued to finish high school in Okotoks at the Foothills Composite High School. Once finished high school Dr. Herget did not commence post-secondary school right away, he spent a year living in Australia and LasVegas, before heading on a two-year mission where he spent in the Paris France area. Dr. Herget attributes these three years after high school as the foundation for the years to come. Shortly after returning home from France, he soon met who would be his sweetheart. He and his wife Jodi were soon married. They since have had seven children, 3 boys and 4 girls who are full of energy.

Dr. Herget started his post-secondary studies at St. Marys University College, in Calgary. After St. Marys Dr. Herget completed a biological science degree at the University of Calgary. Once finished at UofC, he was fortunate to be accepted to the dental program at the University of Alberta. After completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree Dr. Herget started working in Calgary and then transitioned to work at Siksika Dental on the Siksika Reserve, and now has the chance to serve back in Calgary. Dr. Herget’s goal is to provide honest dentistry and treat everyone how he would treat his family.

Elaine Wilson
Elaine WilsonOffice Manager
As the office manager for Ivory Dental, Elaine’s job is to oversee the overall office operations. She is committed to making our patients and their families experience a positive one. Elaine has over 30 years experience in general dentistry including 12 years in specialty dentistry. Born in Calgary, but now lives in Okotoks. On weekends and holidays, you can often find Elaine camping or soaking up the sun in Maui.

Meagann
MeagannRegistered Dental Hygienist
Meagann also known as Meag was born and raised in Lethbridge where she lived for many years. After high-school Meagann took her prerequisites for dental hygiene at Lethbridge college while running for the college cross country. After a year of school she decided she was not ready to move away for hygiene school and transitioned into business at the college and University of Lethbridge which eventually landed her a job working in oil and gas in Calgary and Grande Prairie.
Meagann was looking for a change from her job and started working at a dental office in Grande prairie which brought back her passion for teeth and dental hygiene. After working there for a few years she moved to Ottawa for a dental hygiene diploma and graduated with Honours at the
Canadian National Institute of Health. Upon graduating she got a job and lived in Kelowna where she worked until moving to Calgary to be closer to friends and family. Meagann started working at Ivory dental in October of 2020 and is enrolled at the Simon Fraser university to complete a health science degree.
When Meagann isn’t working you can find her running with her german shepherd Gracie! She is currently training for a few ultra marathons the longest being 125kms. Meagann loves all things outdoors whether hiking or snowboarding you can often find her in the mountains on weekends. Growing up Meagann played many sports such as soccer, basketball and volleyball. but now sticks to spectating for her favorite teams the Montreal Canadians and the Green bay
Packers. If Meagann isn’t being active outdoors she loves doing projects around her home whether decorating or building things there is always something on the go!
Meagann is very passionate about helping others understand the importance of their oral health and hygiene and is so grateful to have her dream job as a dental hygienist!
Fun fact: Meagann was named after her moms dental hygienist. Meant.to.be
Jessica
JessicaRegistered Dental Hygienist
Jessica grew up in small town Rocky Mountain House where she spent most of her childhood camping and quadding with her family. Once completing high school and her preprofessional year at Red Deer College, she got accepted into the the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Alberta. Graduating in 2013, she moved to Calgary to start her career where she gained a wide range of experience working for a specialist periodontal office as well as general practices. From here, Jessica and her husband moved to settle down in Okotoks and start a family. Jessica works part-time as a dental hygienist and spends the rest of her time keeping up with her busy toddler, camping, travelling, and spending time hosting dinner and games nights with their friends. Jessica is passionate about oral health and strives to provide exceptional treatment and education to all of her patients so they not only leave with a healthier mouth, but a better understanding of the importance of their oral health.
